Items for Sale No 2

 Hello and welcome.
After you have browsed the for sale items and found something you would like to purchase please go to to Prices to make your purchase. Thank you.

Copper Cooling Condensers suitable for 54mm columns. I can now produce these in a length of up to 3feet about 92cm in length. This would be in a single coil/helix. Double helix coils would be shorter as there is nearly twice the cooling capacity. The longer coils would be suitable for a large vat or barrel cooling and would probably be used with refrigerant. Obviously these will not be cheap as copper is expensive and then there is my time to take into account. The price is based on the number of turns and not the length as you could have 10 turns in say 8″ or you could 14 turns in 8″. Please enquire via the contact us page and I will do my best to for fill your need.

Hello and welcome.  The following list of items are all for sale. Please chose the item you like the look of and then go to the Pricing Page.  As the old saying goes, All donations gratefully received!  Thank you in advance.

I have produced some cooling coils without the cap plate so you can fit your own.  If this a problem I can fit one for you to suit 54mm copper pipe. They do not have an umbrella on the bottom either. These  would of course be at an additional cost.  The coils are intended for 54mm pipe, and are a single helix/coil. There is room to wrap the coil with mesh should you wish to. Some people like to add mesh to the inside of the coil as well.  I  have added some pictures here  but the pricing will just be a description. i. e. No 1   No 2    No 3   No 4  No 5    Please also be aware that the length of the coil has little effect on the price of the coil. The cost is measured by the number  of turns and not on the spacing.  A six inch long coil with 10 turns is going to be more expensive than a six long coil with seven turns.  All the coils are tested before they are advertised for sale.  They all average a flow rate of around 20 to 22 seconds to fill a 2 litre bottle from our mains water. I can also produce the similar coils in 8mm copper . These work out at around £2.20 a turn/coil.  All items for sale on eBay are about 13% more expensive than on this website because that is how much eBay and PayPal take. eBay even add the postage into the percentage they take.

54mm Copper Pipe. Still Column for Reflux.

Vapour Cooling Tube. Pot Still Vapour Tube. All things Stilling.

I am selling this brand new 54mm copper tube in 100mm additives starting at 200mm in length. Pot stills are suited to shorter lengths and reflux stills are suited to longer lengths. Due to the likelihood of damage to the tube I am limiting the maximum length to and including 1000mm ( 1mt ) I can supply 54mm end feed couplers at a sensible price should you need one or two.  It is sometimes an idea to cut your main still tube into two pieces. This has no effect on the end result. It just makes it one hell of a lot easer to clean and fit and remove the copper mesh packing. Just a coupler and rubber seal is all that’s required.

If some of you would like a smaller or larger size pipe for the main stilling column please let me know I am willing to buy it in if you are willing to purchase it.

A 700mm or an 800mm or a 900mm plus a 200mm for the cooling tower would make a lovely still. I can also supply the cooling coil to fit the cooling tower the copper mesh to fill the column. I have a choice of product cooling Liebigs as well. All you need is the boiler. I am working on that as well. Soon I will be able to supply you with the whole kit and caboodle should you wish to buy the complete kit.

It is all hand crafted here in the UK in sunny Essex.

Please please please if you live in a post code that is more expensive to deliver to get in touch with me before you order.  You know the area you live in so you know what to expect. This will save a lot of aggravation and embarrassment. I do feel for you but there is not much I can do about it. Postage is expensive wherever you live it’s just more expensive for some than it is for others. The up side is the area is probably remote, quiet and beautiful so you you have to pay for that in some way or another.

Dividing Tray. Especially for 54mm columns and 54mm vapour cooling towers.

These hand crafted specially made items have a 6mm x 70mm long temperature probe pocket under the tray for vapour temperature at the top of the reflux column. I have fitted a 10mm x 70mm long outlet tube at the base of the tray for you to fit your own liquid management needle valve.

There are two types to choose from at the moment one with a 35mm neck that opens to the cooling tower and one with a 28mm neck that opens to the cooling tower. The 28mm neck provides quite a large liquid collection area before the liquid management tap. The 35mm neck does not have such a large collection area and will reflux a bit quicker when the tap is turned down / off. It all depends on how you like to run your still.

Please see pictures.

Knitted Copper Mesh.

Important message for those living in Southern Ireland and beyond.

I am sorry but the normal UK postage does not apply to the South. ( Republic )  Amounts of Mesh up to and including 7000mm (7mts) is £10.15 P&P at this moment in time. All other countries will be £14.00 plus what ever amount of mesh you have ordered. Please ask for an invoice if you are in one of the Islands or Bylands. This is due to the fact that it has to travel by air. I am willing to send if you are willing to pay.  There is an alternative though I can send about 3000mm  ( 3mts ) for the sum of £4.00. This will be ordinary letter post and if the item does not arrive then you will have to accept responsibility for this as you did not ask  for sign for.

This is a high quality 0.25mm thickness Knitted Copper mesh, imported by ourselves. It is NOT the thin stuffit mesh sold mainly from America.  I am assured  it is up to 99.99% pure copper by the manufacturer. If you would like the technical numbers please ask.  It is twice the weight of most other copper mesh for sale on the internet, including eBay.  For example, 10  feet  of my mesh weighs in at 176 gms or 6.2 oz. Other mesh I have purchased in 10 ft lengths  weighs in at 89 gms or 3.1 oz. So they are half the weight of the mesh I have for sale.   This was not planned or made up it just happens that it is a fact.  See the photos.   This is ideal for packing the reflux still. ( I am using it myself now instead of the previously bought from America mesh )    You will of course need to ensure it is clean and sterile before use, as with all other equipment that you use.    In other words don’t use it straight out of the packet!     The product can be easily cut with household scissors if it is not the length you require.     When rolled to fit the column the odd lengths can be rolled together so there is no waste.    This mesh will probable last the lifetime of your still so making it a much better buy in the long term.    Plus you will not have to wait for it to come from America.    After two or three uses put in it a bucket of citric acid (one tablespoon per gallon of water) and leave overnight.    It will be as new again in the morning, rinse in a bucket of water containing baking powder same proportions to neutralize the acid.   There you are, already to go again, and  all this  for only a £1.10 for a 300mm length. Twice the product for  much less than twice the price.    This product is sold in what ever  length you would like.     It is made in a sleeve style so you could put your arm in it, why would you?     It is about 100mm laid flat so about 200mm if opened out.    If you need anymore information please email via the contact us form. Please change the quantity in quantity box on checkout page to what you would like. i.e. 1 = 300mm,  2=600mm,  3=900mm  etc.  A piece of additional information when ordering. This is an example only.  If your column is 54mm x 600mm tall this is what you will require.  The mesh is 100mm tall when rolled it takes 1500mm to form a roll.  So,  600mm ÷ 100mm = 6.  6 x 1500mm = 9000mm. 9000mm ÷ 300mm = 30. 30 x £1.10 = £33.00 that is what it will cost to fill your 600mm tall column. Plus whatever postage area you are in.

This product  the same product that I sell  for rodent deterrent, and it the same price.

A piece of information from the suppliers of this material is that it is between 99.96 and 99.99% pure copper.

Don’t be tempted by the rest buy the best, it’s money well spent in the long run.   Buy once not three or four times.    It may seem a little  expensive to start with but it will be the cheapest option in the long run.  Plus the added bonus, it is available in the UK  with only a few days delivery time. I should also point out it will be supplied flat pack as they say in certain circles, this helps with postage.

Activated Carbon Moonshine Polisher

It is approximately 1mt long and is made of 42mm copper there is nothing to beat it.

This is a neat and very useful hand crafted tool. It has a tank connector at the top end with tap to fit into your container, a compression fitting in the middle for ease of cleaning and a tap at the bottom end to control the flow of product into your receptacle. i.e. Demi John.

You will need to purchase a 2 gallon/10lt food/drink container with a means of being able of being suspended from the ceiling in your brewing department i.e. shed, cellar or wherever you do the do. Drill a hole of the exact size to suit the 15mm tank connector even better is to make the hole slightly under size so that you have to screw the connector into the hole. Make sure the O ring is on the inside of the very snug fitting  hole for the tank connector and the plastic washer is on the outside. Do it up tight. Being in the middle of your reasonable strong receptacle when the weight of the tube and contents of the liquid  are applied this will cause it to sag a bit in the middle thus insuring  that you get 99% of the product  out through your polishing tube.  MOST IMPORTANT,  DO NOT, DO NOT, DON’T BUY A THIN BOTTOM RECEPTACLE. i.e. a brewing bucket, no good! Get a strong water carrier or similar they are cheap enough.

Next. make sure the top tap is turned off.  Pour a gallon of water into your top receptacle. Hang it on the designated hook. Connect your polishing tube and just gently pull on the tube to simulate the expected weigh when it is full of liquid gold. If there are no leaks and you are happy with the results so far empty the water and pour in your precious liquid. Rehang on the hook.  Next fill your polishing tube with activated carbon from your favourite brew shop. I find that two packets do three refills. Some people like to wash there carbon before use, personally I don’t bother, each to there own. You can fill half before you do up the compress fitting, make sure the secret  marble is in the bottom just above the tap. This stops the carbon running out! Very important. It will not stop the dust carbon, this is caught buy the two or three layers of coffee filter paper in the funnel at  the top of the receiving Demi John. Hence one Demi John fill in the top, one Demi John out of the bottom. I do not have to worry about overflow. I can walk away and forget it. In the morning it is all done. The bottom tap controls the out put. The slower the better. Four hours a gallon or longer.  If you wish you can pour it all back in the top receptacle and put it through again. This is what I do. I just replace the coffee filter papers. This is why it is called moonshine. When you look at the polished contents in the bottom DJ it does actually SHINE.

  Hand Crafted Moonshine Distilling Parrot.

Distillers Proofing Parrot Hand Crafted Here in Great Briton.

I have just produced another Parrot. This one has removable legs and spout. I am trying to find a design whereby it is practical and easy to pack and post. The removable legs and outlet spout seem to fit the bill.  Please see photos with explanations on them. The legs can be adjusted by carefully bend them where they attach to the body to allow you to get it up right so the Alcometer does not touch the sides of the tube. If you wish to purchase it here you may do so via PayPal for the sum of £ 51.50 plus £5.85 P&P

I will also put it on eBay but it will be more expensive for obvious reasons.

New Jumbo Still Head Attachment.  For 54mm copper columns.

This still head comes complete with the reflux bypass tap and the product to Liebig reflux control tap. There is also a thermostat tube and a built in pressure relief valve in case you forget to open  the taps. ( This unit can be replaced with a 10mm stud should you wish to. Not recommended!! ) The unit fits directly onto the main reflux still column via a 54mm coupler and sealing rubber gasket. No soldering to do. All you have to do is fit the coupler over your existing column roll down the gasket and you are in business. When you have finished your run roll the gasket back onto the coupler lift the unit of the column and clean. Now it is all ready to go again.
The beauty of this unit is it can be used as a reflux attachment or a pot still attachment. Two uses one attachment. It comes to you exactly as you it in the photos. It will not be advertised for sale on eBay they take to much!

A Pot Still from your treasured Reflux Still.

This simple devise will turn your 54mm column Reflux Still into a Pot Still in one easy move.

Remove the Packing and the Vapour Cooling tower and fit the Pot Still outlet Line Arm complete with control tap.  The  Liebig is sold separately on the site. The thermostat is not sold by me it is sold elsewhere. ie eBay.

There you have it Reflux to Pot Still. Simple as that and all hand crafted here in Essex.

No more huge postage costs from America, much to their disappointment. I am trying to make or buy in a lot of the equipment us stillers use in the pursuance of our craft.  I cannot compete with the high end stuff, I do intend to try,  most of us can’t afford that type of equipment anyway.  Most of us are working people trying to eek out  a living and a decent drop to drink at a reasonable price.   I am now retired so that makes it even more important.

I have put a 6mm tube in the top for the Thermostat.  I will even supply the rubber that  seals it to the column. ( It’s only a piece of bicycle inner tube. ) It is not an actual seal it just keeps the two parts a bit more stable in use.

The seal is not a seal as I have already said. Is a rubber that fit over the column and the Line Arm to hold the two together. If there is a build up of vapour it will blow via the rubber seal, but then, you never leave it unattended anyway do you!!? No is the correct answer.

Please see the photos I have tried to show what I have tried to explain.

The All New Trombone Still Attachment.

All item for sale on this website are hand crafted, nothing is mass produced with the exception of taps and brass fitting. This means that nothing is ever identical. The materials may be predominately copper but it take’s on an individual persona. Things are the same but uniquely different.  They may all become keep sakes in a few years time to hand down to those that follow our generation.

I have now produced a couple of small size pipe  attachments that you can fit onto a small boiler. One being a 22mm Trombone shape and the other a 28mm Trombone shape.  They are in effect reflux stills in miniature. They  can be fitted to a pressure cooker, a stainless steel sauce pan, a stainless steel bucket in fact you could fit it to anything metal that is suitable for making a brew in.
They are made in a small pipe sizes i. e. 22mm and 28mm with a tank connector base. All you have to do is to drill a single hole in the lid of your preferred receptacle and you are ready to make Moonshine. They  will both  come ready packed with mesh that you can leave it in for refluxing or remove for pot stilling.  I will even supply a piece of wire to remove the packing should you wish to do so.

Copper Trombone Still Attachment

These Hand Crafted Trombone attachments will come to you in three sections. See Photos. The main stem has the tank connector base with the packing in.  The top of this column is where the bend  fits  via a reducing coupler and  the rubber gasket, this in turn connects to the liebig via a 15mm compression fitting. This fitting can be substituted for a 15mm tap valve to give you ultimate control whilst stilling. When it is all assembled carefully fit the Trombone clamp for added stability  when in use.  Remember it is only soldered on, not welded. This is as easy as it gets.   The water connections are 15mm straight pipe, you can decide what suits you the best to connect to your water supply. These are probably best made before every thing is fitted together to save undue stress on the joints. Some people say I should supply these connections?? You can bet your bottom dollar if I did it would be the wrong size what ever size it was. So I don’t. The measurement are as follows, the 28mm Trombone is 84cm overall. From the Liebig coupling to the out let it is 66cm. This one sells for £120.00 Plus P&P.  The 22mm Trombone is 106cm overall. From the Liebig coupling to the out let it is 84cm. This one sells for £98.00 Plus P&P. These are listed on eBay but they are 10% more expensive because that is what eBay take. The postage will be the same. The water tails are 15mm x 8cm long. These can be shortened if you wish.  The out let pipe it’s self is 10mm.

All that’s left is to get brewing.  Good luck and enjoy.
